RECIPE TO UNLEASH THE FURY..
.
Take 1 Dino Race Kart, remove standard 16hp race engine. Mix frame together with a Suzuki RG 250 2 stroke road bike engine. Tap on some power pipes, adjust some gearing, heat motor to 80 degrees jump in and UNLEASH THE FURY!!

Our new toy. I brought this kart for approx 1200. Required a little work but overall was a great buy. Originally when we got it the gearing was a bit of an issue. I am not sure what the previous owner had planed but the 12- front : 21 - rear gear ratio was what we would choose for the salt lake. We did take it for a spin but did not manage to get 3 rd gear. It was way too fast and although it did accelerate quickly I knew it could be faster and torque was compromised for this tall gearing.
First job was to locate a rear sprocket to suit our needs. 26 tooth sprocket was the predicted and preferred size. I searched the net and called various companies all over Australia for a few days and finally ended up finding a supplier 2mins from my own work. With the 26 tooth sprocket in hand I got some machining done and it was fitted within 1 week. The ratio was a good guess, 1 st and 2 nd gear now have a great amount of torque and 6 th gear is achievable. The kart pulls very hard in all gears great acceleration. I have even done an accidental mono in 1 st gear. We have not managed to rev out top gear but it is not far away. Does anyone have a private 300m+ driveway? As for speed we really need a speedometer but finding one to suit a go kart is proving very hard.
